About Peter Bourdeau

I was born in Montreal, Quebec Canada but raised in a small town near the foothills of Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. After getting a degree in Sales & Marketing (and becoming a US citizen) I began travelling this great country of ours.

What was supposed to be a quick cross country drive to check out some of the truly awesome natural beauty and a few of interesting places across America wound up lasting almost ten years. During that time I wound up staying for awhile in Maine, Colorado, Hawaii, Utah, California (Santa Monica & Sonoma), Florida, Arizona, Oregon and Idaho.

After meeting my wonderful wife while getting a Masters Degree in Journalism in Arizono we wound up in beautiful rugged Idaho. While living way up the panhandle in Idaho we finally heard the calling to pick some place to call Home. After we spent alot of time figuring out where to go that was going to best suit our needs we moved our family to Crossville, TN.

Folks sometimes ask us why we chose the Cumberland Plateau to plant roots after experiencing so many other places. The answer to that comes with easy surety. Tennessee enables our Family to live as we choose. As dedicated homeschoolers, homesteaders who seek to raise our children as we see fit. Since arriving we've come to recognize that many Tennesseeans hold a deep respect of thier rich traditional culture past. and spiritual heritage. At the same time folks around here continue to maintain a fiercely independent perspective tempered by a unique live and let live mentality makes it the best place for us to live in the country.

Whenever I am not helping someone sell a property or find some place to call their home, there's always something to do these days. There's gardening, trail clearing, birding, hiking, wood splitting, walking the woods along our creek or even the occasional chicken wrangling session. It's endless what this place offers.
